Background

"Nice pictures, but where's the results of that

survey you did the last two days  ...

you promised you would have it out possibly

today or at the latest tomorrow, and here

you are showing us all your weather pictures!"

And well, you may ask ...

But, I just decided since I am doing it on

this blog, let's try and make it as interesting

as possible ...  with a pretty picture ... problem

was  I couldn't decide which one to use, so ...

well, you can see what I did ...

______________________________

First, (well almost) , let me take the opportunity

to thank you all for being so generous and good

humored in partaking in this little survey,

which was  largely in response the ad which

appeared in the Hutt News , February 17, 1015,

(see below) ...

I tried to phrase the question in a manner similar

to that which the GWRC used in the ad, without

altering its sense, and to avoid influencing

respondents as they completed the survey.

What did the people understand about the subject

and how would they react to this survey and the

GWRC's invitation to submit an opinion on

Climate Change as outlined in their

advertisement, of which this survey was drawing

attention to ... I was soon to find out ... as you will

see in the results below...

I thought it would be an interesting assignment,

giving me an insight into  whether this was of

concern to the people in this region and what their

understanding of the GWRC's plan was based on ...

I found the results on their website the other day for

the first time, and they state that 85 people made

submissions, and only one person said it

( Climate Change ) was normal ... and that would

have been myself or at least several other ladies

who were quite strongly opposed to their plans

... what happened to their submissions???

That's enough for now, except to mention that

after I have summarized the survey for you all,

( about time, I hear you say!)  it is my intention

to submit my 'say' either in the form of a blog,

e-mail or something, exposing this fraud, with

damning evidence that they are about to waste

public funds on a lie, for that is what it truly is;

hopefully I will have completed that task by

at least the 10/12th March, 2015,

(they are asking for submissions by 10 April, 2015)

and giving, I hope, people a chance to check out

evidence presented on this blog, to help them make

an informed decision which they can then submit to

 GWRC before April 10, 2015 !

The Result of the 23/24 February 2015  Survey

"GWRC Climate Change Questionaire"

 - Stokes Valley, Lower Hutt.

The Question posed in the survey was:

"Should We Protect the Wellington Region

From Climate Changes?"

 *                    *                   *                   *                     *

The total number of the people sampled was 64

The number of YES in favor of some action

by the GWRC was ... 58

The number of NO against any action

by the GWRC was ............... 1

The number of NOT SURE about the

whole thing was ...................  5

For a total of .....................   64

*              *             *            *             *            *

As a percentage of total sampled:

(initial manual calculation in brackets- being of a noted

'bucket' chemist species type)

YES   ...............    90.625  (87.5%)

NO    ................      1.56%  (1.6%)

NOT SURE .....      7.81%  (8.3 %)

That's meant to add up to 100%, which it doesn't ...

in my initial calculations ...

but tomorrow I will hop onto the internet ...

and use a calculator ....and now(tomorrow 8-) )

...  it looks much better 8-)

*               *             *             *             *              *

Also I will put in a pretty colored - drawn pie - cart

...oops, I meant ... chart (non -edible variety) ,

but it's been a long day and ....

it was fun and interesting talking and meeting you all

....so , it's good night from me ..... zzzzzz until tomorrow ...

all this talk about "Pies" has made me a bit

peckish ..... but I will get round to doing that

PIE-CHART ....

promise - after I have finished off the remaining

247.5 deg of pie remaining ...

NOTE:  BLOGGER IS NOT CO-OPERATING

WITH ME ON THIS POST - However there is

more than one way to 'skin the cat'  It doesn't read

as well , but, well...you know....you can at least

read it, or most of it ..... 8-) ... I've done the pie chart

thing - just got to color it in, so check back today ...

and, guess what ?  I've finally discovered why silly

blogger is mucking up my posts :

Definitions & The Review:

Definitons:

Weather - Is the state of the atmosphere

( temperature, wind, atmospheric pressure,

precipitation, sunshine, humidity etc.,)  in a given

particular place, at a given time, lasting usually only

a short time of a day or so...

Climate - Is the average weather experienced in a place,

usually averaged out over a period of 30 years or so,

and subject to fluctuations (changes), (as history has

recorded), and will no doubt do so in the future,

regardless of man's attempts to stop it doing so, and,

as man has adapted successfully to changes in climate

in the past, there is little doubt he/she will do so again.

As a schoolboy once remarked, "Climate lasts

all the time; weather only a few days."

[Well, he nearly got it right, didn't he?]

 Review

I was initially a little disappointed with the results

as my 'carefully thought-out' survey proceeded,

expecting, at least, to get a few  NO's ... and as I walked

back home, I asked myself ( I usually talk to myself,

and you will know if you've ever, by chance struck me

in the local Supermarket, picking up my daily

un-fluoridated bottled spring water)

'did I ask the wrong question'?

... 'Were the participants influenced by factors I had

overlooked, like my random selection of colors on the

form, or were people influenced by all the YES ticks

starting to dominate my score sheet, sending them

a message that 'since everyone agrees, it must be the

right choice?'

And a few other questions crossed my mind....

However, I consoled myself in the knowledge that,

at least, if my survey wasn't proving anything, and

I had wasted my precious time ( like falling behind

on my ukulele playing, which I should really call

'practice' ( with a 'c') because that's what it really is,

and I need plenty of that 8-D, at least I had the

satisfaction of getting people to start thinking about

the topic, and maybe take enough interest to start

doing a bit of their own research and not taking

'as gospel' what the 'experts' want us to believe in ...

And making an informed submission to the GWRC

commenting on their 'plan.'

The Loaded Question

One gentleman, interestingly, did make a thought-

provoking comment, when he said, a bit indignantly,

and rightfully so, "hang on there a minute, mate ...

that's a loaded question!"

A Loaded question, indeed ... worded to present

Climate Change as something to be feared, avoided,

wary of, not a naturally occurring thing, harmful

to man-kind, when in actual fact it has been going on

for thousands of years, and, guess what, mankind

has survived it, putting on an extra woollen pullover

when it gets a bit colder, slipping into our summer

'jamas and shorts etc., when it gets a little warmer....

gotta' get that pie -chart done.....8-(

Done!   (My very Own First PIE-CHART !)

WARNING!    Do Not be tempted to try a piece of my

"pie" as it has artificial coloring added which may

pose serious health problems, like affecting your eyesight ....

P.S.  If someone out there knows anything about

blogging ...(more than I do) ... could they please,

after they have proof-read this lot, put the

spare ")"  ... I forgot to put in there ...

I don't want try and do it myself, 'cos

it's bound to make this blog worser than it

 already is  8-(

...thank you 8-D

p.p.s.    I just found an extra "i" missing somewhere in there, and because

of Murphy's Law (remember him?) I daren't put him to the test ...so, again..

appreciate if some could insert it in the correct place, otherwise everybody

will have to do their own editing 8 -D, which will save me heaps of time...

UKE ON!

Nearly Forgot - I did promise someone - remember?

Both Sides Now  ....'I really don't know clouds at all'.....

..from the album "Clouds"

Lyrics in case you want to sing along!

(Joni Mitchell)

Rows and floes of angel hair

And ice cream castles in the air

And feather canyons ev'rywhere

I've looked at clouds that way

But now they only block the sun

They rain and snow on ev'ryone

So many things I would have done

But clouds got in my way

I've looked at clouds from both sides now

From up and down, and still somehow

It's cloud illusions I recall

I really don't know clouds at all

Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels

The dizzy dancing way you feel

As ev'ry fairy tale comes real

I've looked at love that way

But now it's just another show

You leave 'em laughing when you go

And if you care, don't let them know

Don't give yourself away

I've looked at love from both sides now

From give and take, and still somehow

It's love's illusions I recall

I really don't know love at all

Tears and fears and feeling proud

To say "I love you" right out loud

Dreams and schemes and circus crowds

I've looked at life that way

But now old friends are acting strange

They shake their heads, they say I've changed

Well something's lost, but something's gained

In living ev'ry day

I've looked at life from both sides now

From win and lose and still somehow

It's life's illusions I recall

I really don't know life at all

I've looked at life from both sides now

From up and down, and still somehow

It's life's illusions I recall

I really don't know life at all
